Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau,Prime Minister's Office

The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB), under the charge of Prime Minister’s Office, was established in 1952 as an independent body responsible for the investigation and prevention of corruption in both the public and private sectors. The key functions of CPIB are:
  • Investigation of alleged acts of corruption, and in the course of doing so, any other offences under any written law;
  • Investigation of acts of malpractices and misconduct that have an undertone of corruption; and
  • Prevention and control of corruption through review of procedures and practices which provide corruption opportunities, and delivery of anti-corruption talks.
