The Department of Community, Occupational and Family Medicine (COFM), one of the 17 departments in the School of Medicine in the National University of Singapore was established in 1948 and is a major research and training institution in the region for public health; offering a Masters of Public Health training programmes, and short courses for professional development. It has an established international track record on research in the areas of environmental and occupational health, cancer, cardiovascular and molecular epidemiology, health service research and HIV/STD control. It is a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Occupational Health with good laboratory facilities to support analytical chemistry and tissue culture.
