![]() | Since September 1995, public library services came under the aegis of the National Library Board (NLB), whose mission is to expand the learning capacity of Singapore citizens and to promote greater flow of information between countries. It manages the National Library and a three-tier hierarchy of libraries - regional community and community children’s libraries. Its goals are to develop a relevant and responsive library system to bring information to the people locally and internationally, and to make lifelong learning an integral part of a knowledge-based economy. Training by NLB includes library products and services, library information skills, library development, regional cooperation and in other areas of professional knowledge. |
