The Singapore Power Training Institute (SPTI) was started in the
1970s with the objective of providing systematic and upgrading
training to engineering and technical staff of the Public Utilities Board
of Singapore. Today, it has increased its scope to conduct all levels
of courses for those in the electricity and piped gas industry. Courses
include electrical supply management and electrical distribution,
transmission and distribution of electricity and generation of
electricity. Training modality encompasses classroom lessons, some
using multimedia technology, practical onsite attachments and
dialogues with operational staff.
