Singapore General Hospital,SingHealth

The Singapore General Hospital (SGH) is the public sector’s flagship hospital. Established in 1821, SGH is Singapore’s oldest and largest acute tertiary hospital and national referral centre. SGH’s multidisciplinary approach to medical care allows patients ready access to a wide range of specialties and support services. Annually, about 60,000 patients are admitted to SGH’s wards and another 600,000 are attended to at its Specialist Outpatient Clinics. Within SGH, the Postgraduate Medical Institute and the Alice Lee Institute of Advanced Nursing serve as the training arm to provide professional training for doctors and nurses. SGH also plays a major role in undergraduate medical teaching and serves as a teaching hospital for student nurses, radiographers and therapists from other institutions in Singapore.
