Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority

The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) was established on 1 April 2000 to ensure a resilient supply of safe food, safeguard the health of animals and plants, and facilitate agri-trade for the wellbeing of the nation. As a statutory board, the AVA is equipped with greater autonomy and flexibility to enable it to better respond to the challenges faced by the food and agriculture industry in Singapore. The AVA provides assistance and training to the industry and government officials in areas such as food safety, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), veterinary epidemiology, animal and plant health, agrotechnology and aquaculture.
