The National University of Singapore (NUS) was established in August 1980 with the merger of the University of Singapore and Nanyang University. Its origins, however can be traced to the King Edward VII College of Medicine (opened in 1905) and Raffles College (opened in 1929). Today, NUS has eight faculties of study and 16 reserach institutes serving a student population of more than 20,000. NUS is now one of the leading centres of higher learning and research in the Asia Pacific region.
The NUS School of Business is known for its leadership in business education and research, and executive training and development. In both 1999 and 2000, the NUS Business School was ranked as the best business school in Asia on the basis of its MBA programmes. This ranking reflects its record of excellence in business education and research throughout the region.
Over the past 19 years, the NUS Business School has helped more than 9,000 middle and senior managers from 80 countries deal with the complexities of modern management through its executive development programmes.
