Temasek Lifesciences Laboratory (TLL) was set up in February 2002
to undertake cutting edge research in the broad fields of lifesciences
such as molecular biology and genetics including animal health
biotechnology. Affiliated to the National University of Singapore and
Nanyang Technological University, TLL has various programmes in
both fundamental research and strategic research that are industrydriven.
In addressing the need and importance for prompt scientific
research in new emerging diseases, such as SARS and Avian Flu,
TLL has built within its compound state-of-the-art Biosafety Level 3
and Animal Biosafety Level 3 laboratories. TLL has also committed
itself to make available these laboratories for the training of the
scientific community in biosafety and as a national resource when
and where needed.
